A Cultural Landscape at Risk

The Kimberley, in Northwestern Australia is the size of California, with only 40,000 residents. Nowhere else on our planet have people lived as long within, and in balance with, a landscape.  Now, a cultural legacy over 40,000 years old  is at risk from mining and development.

Everywhere.

"The Kimberley is the world's, and the world doesn't know it exists."

                               -Mark Jones

Everything.

"Country means looking after each other - the plants, the animals, the rocks."

           -Annette Kogolo

Everyone.

"Country is our common ground.  Country is what connects us - everybody."

                   -Albert Wiggan
